2010: New Beginnings

Happy New Year! Praise God for new beginnings & rejuvenation. I have been MIA since last year, but there's an explanation.

Two days before Christmas, I discovered that our family will be growing...again. We are all excited to add a 6th member to our team. Now we have someone to come in off the bench (lol...i love basketball). I, however, have been unprecedentedly ill. No need to go into detail, but it hasn't been fun - this too shall pass.

I have to admit that I was quite concerned with what other people - family & friends - would think when they found out about our new addition.
I believe in spirit led transparency and have no problem admitting that our current situation doesn't appear to be the best timing in regards to bringing another little person aboard. I struggled with this. Greatly.
I thank God for my husband who was able to ease my mind with words of wisdom. Even more, I thank God himself for his WORD that truly helped me to be confident in how he has blessed us.
Psalm 127: 3-5 reads: Lo, children are a heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them; they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the ememies in the gate.
I honestly almost cried after reading that. God, in his infinite wisdom, took me to that passage via a podcast I was listening to from Matt Chandler @ The Village Church. He mentioned "quiver full" in his message and I was like, "What is that?!" My research brought me straight to Psalm 127.

Lord, thank you for all the blessings you lavishly bestow on my family. We can't wait to see the arrow you're adding to our quiver!
