Busy Times

My brain has been so full of stuff lately! It's a good thing. During this busy time, I have to constantly remind myself that without Christ it is all in vain. Forsaking my time with my Savior is NOT AN OPTION. It is very tempting to "get this done first" or "just finish this real quick" or "i'll pray/read after i'm done." If it happens once, it can happen twice and can then turn into a habit. I don't want that. I want Christ to be at the beginning and at the core of everything I do.
I wasn't planning on sharing that, but I also enjoy being transparent in hopes that my experiences can help or encourage someone else.

So...busy is the word. School is back in action and that means Virtuous Journey goes back to a normal posting schedule. Normal? I think there is a new normal.
The season that I'm in is sporadic, it's random, it's highly flexible and somewhat variable. (that's wife & mother of 4 talk)
There is a calming consistency that holds everything together and that is the Holy Spirit that lives within! Thank God for the Holy Spirit - lol - or I would truly be in total chaos.

So, Welcome Back! We have another year ahead of us (notice my year starts with the school year, for now). Let's continue in the Virtuous Journey together.
We are stronger than last year!
We are wiser than before.
We will seek Christ even harder.
Together.

Thinking Out Loud

I'm looking at this pile of clothes.
The key to laundry is consistency.
I think my key got lost in the pile.

*sigh*  I'm gonna find it, though!

Thinking Out Loud

My husband was grabbing a few things for our daughter's 5th birthday. He told me that he stopped at a hair store to get her a new hair cover to wear overnight. He didn't find what he wanted so he didn't end up getting anything from the store.

I was so filled with awe when he shared that story! I absolutely love that he is so in touch with his daughter and her needs that he would go into a hair store, ask for help and attempt to buy a new "'do-rag" all on his own. It doesn't matter that he walked out with nothing, because his action said everything. That was so thoughtful, sweet and cute that I had to share.

Shout out to my husband and all the dads holding it down for their daughters!

Thinking Out Loud

PATIENCE! Lord I need it right now. I love my little people, but every mom knows there are days where you can just... *sigh*..., but God! This thought isn't too random, but it is very real and very right now. And I feel the patience flowing already! We serve a very real and right now God. He is right there with exactly what we need exactly when we need it, amen!
Lord, I praise your mighty name this very second! I thank you for entrusting me with four precious gifts. Please help me to be a good steward over your children. They are truly a blessing and I want them to see YOU when they see "mommy".
Amen.

Thinking Out Loud

I love how my husband tells me I'm beautiful...especially when I don't feel that way.

To all my Virtuous Wives, take a moment to tell your Man of Honor something you love about him - tell him something you've never told him before or re-tell him something in a new, creative way.

Sharing your heart promotes oneness and a new approach never gets old. ♥

Thinking Out Loud

I wish I could throw these stretch marks away!

Our 4 year old, Laila, heard one of those stretch mark remover commercials say, "Get rid of stretch marks..."

I heard her brain working and shortly after she asks, "Mom, did you throw your stretch marks away?" *smh* All I could say was, "No, I didn't."

Thinking Out Loud...

Pampers now allows you to text in your Gifts to Grow codes! This is great because now I don't have a ton of little sticky codes laying around. They have made a very convenient update to a wonderful program.

Thinking Out Loud...

I would love to throw out everything in my closet and start over.
Maybe not everything, but a good majority.
