Never heard of this man, but...

...I have to shout him out today for his boldness. Mr. Robert Bentley, the newly appointed governor of Alabama, gave a public speech and made it plain & clear that if you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your savior, then you are not his brother or sister and he wants to be your brother.

He went on to say that if the Holy Spirit lives in you, that makes you his brothers and sisters. Bold.

I got a few points from Mr. Bentley's statments:

1. He has accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and the Holy Spirit abides in him. Of course I don't know this man personally and without seeing his fruit I can only go by what he is saying. He has to be passionate about his savior to rep him in his inaugural speech.
2. For those listening who have not acctepted Christ, he just invited them to accept Him as thier personal Lord and Savior. Mr. Bentley said he wants to be your brother (in Christ) and, according to what I read, he said it twice.
3. Robert Bentley has made a bold stand for Christ. Given a very public platform, he proclaimed that Jesus Christ is his savior and he wants him to be your savior, too. That's hard for some followers to do in our everyday lives. It takes a lot for some followers to tell just one stranger about Christ. (myself included)

Again, I don't know Mr. Bentley, nor am I promoting him in any way. When I saw this story, I was pleased that my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, was being promoted. Of course Mr. Bentley ruffled many feathers with his words, but Jesus tells us that the world will hate us because they hated him.

Let's pray that Robert Bentley finds strength in Christ and is able to lead his life and his new office in a way that is pleasing to and glorifies Christ.

Mark 8:38 - Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
